2026 NATIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMPETITION FOR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
Introduction
The National Information Technology Competition for Tertiary Institutions is Nigeria
Computer Society (NCS)’s annual tertiary institutions Information Technology (IT)competition which aims at promoting and identifying IT skills, interests, and passion amongst
undergraduate students.
Eligibility
The Competition is open to undergraduate students in all Tertiary Institutions (Private and Public) in Nigeria – Universities, Polytechnics/Colleges of Technology and Colleges of Education that are studying Computer Science and its related courses.
The entry application must be filled and submitted online via Nigeria Computer Society website
Competition Coverage
Computer Science courses and emerging trends in technology as approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Board for Colleges of Education (NBCE) and the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
Guidelines
- Interested applicants must currently be enrolled in any recognized tertiary
institution in Nigeria. - Each applicant is pays a non-refundable registration fee of five thousand naira (N5,000.00)
- Entry applicants must fill the competition application form via www.ncs.org.ng.
- Entry applicants are to submit the followings with the application form online:
- evidence of registration fees payment
- duly signed reference letter (using the Institution’s letter head paper) by the HOD
- electronic copy of passport
- Application portal opens – 27th April, 2026 and closes on 30th June, 2026.
- 1st stage competition shall be held on 14th July, 2026.
- The 2nd stage competition (National Level) shall be held on 22nd July, 2026.
- Winners will officially be recognized and awarded during the NCS Annual Conference. This can be virtual or physical.
- Peradventures, there is a tie in the scores; another competition will be fixed to determine the winners.
- Any costs or expenses incurred by entrants for participating in the competition are at the applicant’s account.
- The organizers will only provide the prizes for awardees.
- The decision of the panel of judges is final and is not subject to any form of
appeal with regards to selection of finalists.
Important Dates
- Application portal opens – 27th April, 2026 and closes on 30th June, 2026.
- 1st stage: 14th July, 2026 (Handled by Zonal Coordinators-via proctor).
- 2nd stage: 22nd July, 2026 (Handled by Education & Manpower Dev. Committee-via zoom).
