INTRODUCTION

eHealth is typically about driving health care delivery using modern technologies. All over the world, there have been a paradigm shift in medical services such as record management, consultation, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, etc. because of the advancement in Information Technology.

Nations all over the world continue to leverage on information for effective and qualitative health care delivery. In Nigeria, we must also show more commitment to the adoption information technologies in health care services. In the effective realization of sustainable development goal of universal health coverage by 2030, we must utterly embrace digital technologies in the management. administration and delivery of health care services.

Health care institutions across the globe have continued to apply emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, virtual reality (and augmented reality, big data analytics and robust network such as Internet of things, software defined network, edge computing and multi-cloud technology. Advanced nations in the world are now embarking on full implementation of eHealth systems at different levels but the rate adoption of technologies in Nigeria health system is still low. The advent of Covid-19 has also made the dependent on information technology in medical services imperative. It is now very obvious that running health care institution requires highly modern technical skills in the application of Information Technology in health care practices. 

Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), the umbrella body for all IT practitioners and interest groups, has a core mandate of developing and promoting IT in Nigeria. In over four decades of existence, NCS remains committed to promoting rapid national growth by providing necessary technical and professional supports in all sectors of the economy.

The eHealth Forum and Workshop were carefully conceived by NCS to assist health institutions in the design, implementation and deployment of dependable and robust smart eHealth systems. Participants will be exposed to the innovative and smart health delivery tools and systems.

The Society will continue to support and promote technological advancement and Information Technology initiatives for sustainable development of the nation.
