Call for Papers

We welcome authors and speakers to be part of the 2024 International Conference on Technological Solutions for Smart Economy (SmartEco 2024) scheduled to hold from Monday, 12th to 15th of August 2024, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Authors are encouraged to submit their research abstracts, papers, e-posters, research results, innovative projects, literature surveys, and industrial experiences that describe the critical strategy in developing the next-generation E-Systems.

Conference Topics

Submission Guidelines

  1. All submitted papers must be previously unpublished and should not be undergoing review or publication elsewhere at the period of SmartEco 2024 review.
  2. Authors are to submit their full papers in English on original work intended for presentation at the Conference. Paper acceptance will be on submission of a complete article, and only full papers submitted through easychair will be considered.
  3. Paper submission must be anonymous of authors’ details. All papers should not be more than 2,500 words or 7 pages (charges may apply for extra pages). Submissions should follow the word document template (Download the approved paper template)
  4. For Doctoral Consortium, submissions should detail the student’s and supervisor’s  details. Students should submit an extended research outline, stating the title of the research and a letter of recommendation from their university or from their major Supervisor (See the Guidelines)
  5. Poster Presentation: Authors are required to submit a poster paper. Poster papers should be a maximum of four pages, clearly describing the research questions addressed and their contributions to knowledge. (See the Guidelines)
  6. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by qualified reviewers. The authors are requested to submit their original and unpublished work in full not later than April 1st, 2024
  7. Where there are multiple authors, at least one author must pre-register to qualify for inclusion of the paper in Conference Proceedings.
  8. NCS Conference proceedings is planned to be published as a special issue in a high impact factor journal, while best papers would be selected for publication consideration in recognized indexed Journals, the Journal of Computer Science and Its Applications, and the International Journal of Information Security, Privacy and Digital forensics published biannually by Nigeria Computer Society.
  9. Fifteen (15) minutes will be allowed for a summary delivery of the paper at the conference; the full written article is not to be read.
  10. All approved papers for presentation will be in NCS-supported PowerPoint (.ppt) format with no more than 15 slides, including a cover slide.
  11. Authors should check the plagiarism status of their papers before submission. Note that the maximum acceptable similarity index for the articles in this conference is 15%.

Doctoral Consortium

Introduction

The Doctoral Consortium is an integral part of the NCS SmartEco 2024 International conference. This consortium has the following objectives:

  • To provide a platform for doctoral students to share their research with other students and experts
  • To receive constructive feedback on the ongoing research
  • To offer a forum to solve issues that PhD students could encounter in the course of undertaking the research
  • To encourage open and useful discussions
  • To provide insights that will help students towards the enhancement of their research
  • Best Presentation Award goes to the Student and Major Supervisor as a form of encouragement

The Doctoral Consortium will be held during the Conference which holds from 12th to 15th August, 2024 in Port Harcourt,  Rivers State, Nigeria

Eligibility Criteria

Participation is open to doctoral students whose research align with the themes of the SmartEco 2024 NCS International conference. The most eligible candidates are PhD students in Computing, Information Technology (or related fields) who can convey their research aims, challenges and proffer relevant solutions. There are no restrictions on the year of study of the PhD, but preference will be given to students in the early stages due to the opportunity for impact and potential benefits from the feedback of the Doctoral Consortium.

Students should submit an extended research outline, stating the title of the research and a letter of recommendation from their university or from their major Supervisor
